MEMORIES
21 June 1982

You can destroy yourself,
And me,
Literally and metaphorically;
You can hate and despise me;
You can discard all your possessions
That remind you of me;
But nothing, nor you, nor I,
Can negate what we have shared.

Oh my, dear Diana!! 21 June of many years ago I married ... and you are so right with your words ... even in stormy weather we shall remember sunshine.

This touched me deeply.

Love,
Margherita

amusemi, my reply to your response, before you edited it, is "er . . . um . . er . .  er . . smiles . . . er . . . "

Thank you steaven.  I am glad you think so.

Thank you Roniece.  Yes, a long time ago, but . . . memories can be persistent.

Wow, Margherita - and I wrote several on that day!  Yes, he was a very, very special man - but with many problems.  Strange thing is that he eventually got over most of them, and we were together for 18 mostly happy months two years after this, then it was me who couldn't handle one of them, and he never forgave me for that.

Yes, Oklahoma Rose, you are right.

So much wisdom so long ago...

funny, the things we can't forget.

P.S. This was written two years to the day following my second marriage. Had we known one another then, I would have thought you had written this one for me.

Wow!  Karilea, did you see that Margherita was married on 21 June, but not 1982?

So your second wedding was on 19 June 1982.  It is sad that this poem could have been to you.  You deserve all the happiness in the world.

Sometimes things just don't work for us and you have to wonder if it is just a part of our learning process. I wonder if we are graded on the way we handle it?

I edited it out, because it was a little to forward and rude.  Figured I'd better change it.

Yo dear Owl,

This is very true.

In the line:
"But nothing, nor you, nor I,"

you might think of changing the first "nor" to "not".

Thanks for reading and enjoying, Bobby, and the suggestion, but the way it is, is the way I want it.  Smiles.

Hi Owl, Love is always a mix of joy and sadness, your poem is clear and loud as your voice to share with us a delicate sentiment...Thank you for the poignant poem beautifully expressed.

Ida, Bill and amusemi (2nd message), somehow I seem to have missed your replies.

Thank you Ida.  I don't know about being graded, but I certainly believe that everything that happens to us, can teach us something.  Whether we use it, or abuse it, is up to us.

Thank you Bill.  I am glad you enjoyed it.

amusemi, I didn't find what you said originally offensive.  Perhaps I missed the point?  Smiles.
