       Flight of the Heron

Ancient Autumn oaks march
along the brown-crisp ridge,
(toward the vanishing point
   of Time)
trailing frosty ribbons of
  smoke and mist
through the calm-bright dawn.
A lone Heron leads the way
  into Winter.

You capture the scene almost like a haiku.  I like it.

the canvas you have painted is amazing...it is regal in its splendor while maintaining an exquisite simplicity...very nicely done...

There is something noble about the heron's profile. Thanks for bringing the crisp smell of autumn into my computer room.
