boxcars pass the cows on grass
on the road again
wagons ride the mountainside
wild winter wren

fellow riders, live outsiders
roamers of the rails
hobo stew a drink or two
hundred mile tales

rolling on the morning gone
evening in the air
moonlight cruise 'neath purple hues
coasting without care

sunrise crown some country town
wandering about
harmless fling, some fine young thing
catch tomorrows car on out

valley streams and drifters dreams
trolling down the track
far from home but free to roam
not ready to go back

Welcome to Pip, Peter!  Enjoyed your words.  Reminded me of my son who is busy roaming the USA at the moment.  He does have to come back soon though - the visa says so.

I like the vistas you present.  It would be nice to do that, to ride the rails.
