Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2008-11-06 12:07 PM

I have a box in my heart
And it’s locked really tight
It’s where I keep all my words
And my thoughts out of sight

All the hurt wrapped in my soul
Is hidden from questions and view
Locked in a box in my heart
Only to be shared with a few

I turn to the silence
And poems written at night
Alone with these memories
Locked in my heart safe and tight

Words are my expression
They set me free from the pain
I write them and lock them
Deep in my heart box again

Dear Alison, it's good to have this heart box, where things enter and exit and create balance.

This is a beautifully crafted poem and I enjoyed it greatly.

I'm glad you have a way of coping with hurt, Alison.  Poets are sensitive, and thus get hurt easily.

By the way, your messages to Kacy were particularly beautiful.  Although I am very much a stay-at-home person, they made me wish I could experience the wonders of Alaska and meet its kindest inhabitant!

Alison,I hope that someday soon you will take the heart box to a high place and open carefully so that all the hurts will fly away and only the good thoughts and love will stay. Love, "late"

Alison - please don't lock those feelings in your heart too tightly, as the poetry of your heart needs to be expressed. Always words with much feeling is what you do, felt by this poet as it's read. Wish you the best...
