the collapse of the ring upon her finger
leaves a mark on his aching soul
and the shadows of a setting sun
lengthen the longing of his pain

weeping whets the heart-honed stone
like a smithy's edge on heat-bent steel
and the cold hardens the hot-iron edge
as waters forlorn face the current's stream

his thoughts drift like a sun-drenched limb
as feelings flirt with a distant shore
past his past in a reverie unsought
of echos and memories of love-spent times

when the touch of her caress like a morning's mist
lasted longer than a daisy in the sun's warmth kissed

Wonderful romantic write, dear Steaven. Puts me in a mood of reverie.

Steaven,

I needed this beauty tonight, but it was sad too.

"past his past" in a reverie unsought
of echos and memories of love-spent times...

funny thing Steven, I hadn't read this until after my latest response on my poem of Into Tomorrow's When...

Enjoyed your words

Love's touch echoes far beyond any other emotion. Especially memorable, when unsought feelings arise and crest across the shores of our undying affection.

Tenderly honest.
