The flight of the phoenix
Part 5, men of the jungle
-------------------
Simple smile breaks out.
Thousand ripples of sun
spreads upon his face.
In his fist clasped are the ten bucks, tips.
“But you haven’t seen
tigers this time!”
He exclaims
as if he is to blame.

I know I have seen.
Tiger.
Life has many incarnations.

The flight of the phoenix
Part 4, tiger of the jungle
---------------------------------
The drop of blood is sucked by the dirt.
The arid earth screams in delight.
Transfixed we are visitors, in this
world of simple lives.
Live without dream.
For food.
The tiger turns its majestic head,
in its eyes indifference intensifies.
The flora and fauna grin.
Ha, see at your soul.
See inside your concrete blues,
metal-dreams and paper-greed .
Blood thirst is so much simpler
than living in a urban landscape.

I felt the presence of God amid those leaves and foliages, among those hordes of animals and simple men involved in living from jungle. I search my heart where I am lacking. It is living long in ”city pent”

So intense and exquisitely rendered simple joy.

You have listened to the pulsation of real life, of how it was once, when we were living like these people, still able to capture the sounds of nature.  "Blood thirst" may sound totally unfamiliar to an urbanized soul now, but we carry this inheritance within us and express it in other ways, by apparently illogical aggressiveness.

quote:
I felt the presence of God amid those leaves …

Yes and you are certainly enriched by this experience.

It is a fine pleasure to listen to your poetic voice and to take in your poetic images.

I think you would be very good also as a novelist.

I highly appreciated your series "Flight of Phoenix".

You never fail to capture my interest and to bring a sigh with your sharp spirit of observation and exquisite language.

Love,
Margherita

I held my breath throughout Part 5 and 4 and had to shake myself at the end, reluctantly, to come out of the jungle.  Seeing the tiger there in the jungle with all of you was magical.  Enjoyed the real people living without all unnecessary trappings, too.  I will be re-reading this often.

, lotus pond
The breeze has come out of a bath
in this lotus pond. The petals
colored pale pink, red or crimson
stare at me. Somewhere deep, the snake
playfully rolls, embraces the stems.
I touch the flower, praise its poise,
pick it up and become drunk
by its poison rendered by an
old snake. It hisses. It says,”Ha!
What is a splendor without a bit
venom that I may emit?”  Blue
I am now, a small sacrifice
before the world of beauty. © 2008 - All Rights Reserved Kushal Poddar

Transfixed we are, as readers, dear poet.
You have both keen eyes and heart, and are a natural story teller.
