A State of Disarray

Do not show the heart inside
So the bleeding of it fades
No doctors pills or holistic aid
Can save it from itself

Walk the hallowed halls and remember
All the strains of forced pursuit
And what did it gain, but mystic...
Fettered men are not lovers

Place the mind in sweet restrain
And search the halls for other
The words I never heard, the ideas
Oh what a novel plan

Alas the bottled soul is a safer one...

The heart may not be cured, but the soul is with the aid of medication...I am Bi-Polar.  The novel reference refers to an old delusion that I could write a book about part of my life, but it transforms in this poem to the new use of "novel"...to return to the hallowed halls of college and hear the words I missed on my first, and other go-rounds.  Hope this helps.
