      Eternal Reckoning

The Winter wind blows
dry-wrinkle scraps of withered
  leaves,
shattered hopes, and fading
  memories...
through these empty rooms
where dreams had lived,
and love once walked
in precious moments lost
to Time’s eternal reckoning.

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

You have hit upon an eternal truth, there's a season, and a reason for everything.

It is wonderful to see you posting here again, Poet, with this fine, strong poem.

Sad but beautiful as always, Poet. Makes one think of past times.

This, my friend, is one of the best poems of yours that I have read.  This is the one I put an asterick by and come back to read again and again.

Hey
"dry-wrinkle scraps of withered
  leaves,
shattered hopes, and fading
  memories..."
Really awesome emotional image there! Much like the rest of this very vivid poem. Thanks for the inspiring read.

I grandly appreciate everyones' comments on this 'write'; however, I wish I wasn't so 'empty' (and could 'pen' the more pleasant stuff) ... Unfortunately, I now know EXACTLY what Mr. Eliot meant about 'hollow men'; etc.
