It doesn't help you that I know
this place you're in that's not quite cold
nor is it hot, as Hell's described.
It is not truth. It is no lie.

It is mute screaming, deafening,
Awake and dreaming, questioning
surreality of life:
a kiss "good morning", kiss...goodnight.

It doesn't help that I don't know.
These words are silencing my own
need for understanding slammed
against the wall of reprimand;

my letter of condolence sealed
with guilty wax, stamped: "It's not me."

You find perfect words for what I feel. "Mute screaming" really is an apt and "gifted " phrase.

"The Moving Finger writes, and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line.."

No mother should have to endure what this one did, and what a beautiful girl she was.  So sad, and you captured the mixed emotions of the shock of this all to well.  I just have to ask, "why?" again.

Aw.

Ah, but this child deserved a true sonnet, methinks.

Her death had a pretty harsh impact on me, as I thought about the basic human nature that is not so pretty...I can't hug my kids enough now. It's not exactly one I would send to her parents, yanno?

sigh

And Brian, don't go beating yourself up on that...you just hit the wrong poem. The one where I was laughing at myself was "A Game of Flinch". Um, I could have told ya...*smile*

c'mere you

nuzzle nuzzle NIP

And for those who pray, pray for her family, k?

Thanks all for reading. This was just one of those things I wrote because it wouldn't shaddup.
