the Siren's call

the Siren's call of temptation
vocalizes untamed pursuit
an all encompassing presence
intently irresistible
uplifting her chosen victim
by embedding his every pore

her alluring appearance temps
with glimpses of beautiful flesh
she conquers seduction quickly
using instinctive amusements
degrees of the physical world
removed from human traditions

the Siren stimulates a man
promising endless adventures
making him thirst for more unions
while instilling a ripe spirit
increasing his wild compulsion
to possess her at any cost

Interesting write, Janette.  Maybe we all have a bit of that Siren's call in us which perhaps just manifests in different ways.  Enjoyed your words.

I believe I have heard this call before and you describe it well.  I especially liked the opening

THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING:

Huan Yi - That was an interesting site you left for me to check out, thanks.
Years ago I was fascinated learning that the legendary Sirens were creatures with the head of a female and the body of a bird. <--very odd!
Thus going to that web-site and reading that other Siren poem did humor me. Hahaha!

Helen - I agree ... often in the pursuit ... no holds are barred. *wink*

Mark - Ah!  So you know it?  I am glad that I got it right. *wink wink*

Yes I also agree..that we all have a little "Siren" in us

The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone.

Ceinwyn - Indeed.  Striving for ... irresistible attraction ... is hard to resist. *wink*

well now...I thought I'd replied.

Sheesh.

but yes, to your hooking opening lines--handled diplomatically and true.

and smiling at John's Margaret Atwood link too, an appropriate companion to this beautiful link of ink.

(can I be your groupie?)

*chuckling*

much enjoyed
