Between the Lines

0 posted 2008-10-24 06:26 AM

Interests lay elsewhere,
current events a fantasy of hope
(or is that hopelessness)
where the pain deepens
through the collaboration
of "others".

Numbed by the missing words
and the lack of will,
wondering... how one year
could have made
such a difference
to a path...now prearranged.

Heart beats slower,
resulting in a calmness,
(even with lack of sleep)
wishing to vacation at home,
fighting the procrastination
within.

Recognition of self
disappearing between the lines,
the many lines that show
before the mirror of life.

M

This numbness feeling...is rampant these days, when 'hope' feels like a misspelled word.
On days like this, watching busy birds and squirrels prepare for winter is palliative.

This is exactly why I've never had much fun in those carnival "fun" house attractions known as The House of Mirrors...

know I love you, lady!

you've summed up what seems to be a stop (at one time or another) for all of us so well

loved the line:
"Numbed by the missing words
and the lack of will"

"wishing to vacation at home,"

That line especially struck me ... wow!

And I thought that perhaps this was an exclusive feeling of mine ... Phew! ... apparently not.

Enjoyed!

between the dui accident I had to deal with since New Years and the economy and  listening to nothing but negativity for this election ...I just feel so old  and tired.

Many of us have been through an oil shortage in the early 70's and an economy that brought me to Pennsylvania to be able to afford a home. So none of this is new...just a little different ...but still very wearing on everyone.

Thank you for reading and responding. You are all appreciated.
