Roswell, New Mexico 1947. I must have been about four... but I remember it well. The little store next door was all a-buzz about something that had crashed in the desert. It was summer... so hot when my family went for a drive, following a military convoy that seemed to go on forever, out into the desert. To a spot where the convoy entered but we could not. So many soldiers there. Years later... remembering I thought... what a lot of to-do about a weather balloon. Ida Werrett |

Ya, right ~ a "weather balloon"! lol I'm fascinated by everything that I've read or seen about Roswell. I think that's kinda neat that you were actually in the vicinity at that momentous time in history! Yes, there have been some hoaxes regarding that 'incident', but the interviews that I have listened to by 'higher ups' and other respectable witnesses, were highly convincing to me! Even at such a tender age, you were 'aware' that something was amiss. It's incredulous (or is it?) how many obvious government cover ups there have been within our lifetimes. What about all those we will never know about??? |

Luckily I have been blessed with a great memory and though I was very young I remember all of the excitement of that time very well. Hearing all the stories and being rather curious, my Dad decided to have a look but the military had other ideas. I remember being hot, hungry and thirsty (the normal concerns of a four year old) during that very long drive and the incredible number of military personel out in the middle of nowhere.
