I hold in my hand a little seed,
the seed of intimacy,
and I have a place next to the stairs
just off to the right of them
with enough light to stimulate
what’s inherently hidden
but I turn it this way and that;
will it bloom or remain unused?

One day I’ll settle into the silence
to know of a future to come
but this learning curve no means
to be sure of an absolute truth.

Little seed, little seed, of intimacy
how mournful you look unused
and in the passing of months into years
the one who cast you aside
will become a thorn in your side ~
and that’s how the roses got thorns!

Yo dear Helen,

This little seed is very well written.  It's nice to see that here.

Thanks so much, Bobby.  I really do appreciate your comment.  I usually like a bit of mystery but I think this one is out there without any frills.  Perhaps I'm evolving - you think?

smile...

You're very good, lovie! And I happen to have a rose that's blooming, and oh I wish she had thorns. I'd like to keep her blooming on the bush for a while.

I need to read you more often lovie.

Better not read me more often, dear Karen, otherwise you'll become as confused as me.     No, I don't think "confused" is the right word but when I come up with a better one I'll be sure to let you know.
