.

Draw the curtains
Together  There’s no
Further need for light

Put shrouds on all
The old furniture

Empty the bottles
Of wine from their bins
Into the kitchen sink

Throw out the plants
Those musical instruments
Once played now stored
To rot in what
Was an attic room

And walk away
After closing
All the doors

Finally now
And forever more
Throwing away
The cherished keys

.
