beyond the scattered seashells and driftwood,
some souls drift upon endless waves
forever searching the shoreline,
seeking safe harbor

the setting sun sinks
all but the most resolute

so when the boat is sinking
it pays to know how to float,
and where to find
safe harbor

Yo dear Kacy,

I'll never forget the day I learned how to float.  It's very relaxing.

I think this speaks of life's challenges, and how to survive them   Short and well thought out.  Nice.

Everyone is looking for a safe harbor, some just don't know how to find it. After reading this poem I would say that you do.

We really need to enjoy the floating, safe harbors are a temporary experience.

Intense write, dear Kacy.

"some souls drift upon endless waves
forever searching the shoreline,"

Oh!  I can so relate to those lines.
Great write. (just love those "S" words, too)

Enjoyed!

Midnitesun - if one can find safe harbour in times of sinking one will come through the other side whole... Nice write...

Kacy, I believe, like Ida, that you have found several safe harbours, and I am happy for that.

I loved your poem, the peace, the reassurance, the philosophical thought behind it and the beautiful picture you painted.
