Now in assurance that all is well
she sifts through the boxes of past
first in the manner of one detached
and then as one attuned to it all.

There flashed then before her blue eyes
the illumination of mind
at her neglect of what was entrenched
as the truth of her womanhood.

She was aware; you know we all are,
of the kindling that lights a fire
but suddenly, bang, she was into the habit
of surviving throughout the cold
and she cried then late into the night
a woman undone by the years of no love.

There came then a morning of beautiful sun
and a breeze to uplift the woe
but she stumbles now too tired and fatigued
to embrace her entrenched womanhood
because neglect of the truth turned around
and shot her in the foot!

Helen,

This touched me - and I want you to get that foot fixed and control the shots in the future.  Throw the gun from that train and give yourself to just breathe.  Hopefully, the rest will fall into place.

Heck, I don't know squat - but it sounded good and wise.  Yes?

What I do know is that I like your poetry.

Oh, yes, dear Alison, it did indeed sound very wise.  I think my foot is now beyond repair but thankfully I do have another so the stumble is only half a stumble.  Now that's a good thing, yes?

Thank you for your kind comment about my "poetry".  I think of them as "stories" but I do know that they apply to a lot of us so perhaps  "life stores", yes?

Have a great weekend!

Dear Helen, what an ending, but yes like a boomerang it hit you. May you live your womanhood serenely!

Beautiful thoughts very efficiently expressed!

Love and hugs.
