House full of brothers
equals empty refrigerator.
Check it out...
one wrinkled onion,
half a pitcher of green kool aid,
jar with a little mayonaise
(how did that happen)
and an empty butter dish.
But I just came from the store
and I have a soda...
as long as I hold on to it.
Won't put it in the fridge.

Yo dear Ida,

More power to them.

Do they sneak down in the middle of the night for a snack?

Yo Bobby, If there's nothing to eat in the daytime where are you going to get a "snack" at night? Maybe do a Sarah Palin and sneak out and field dress a moose.

Dear Ida, what a familiar story you tell here, I think it's the same the world over

but boys will be boys and it usually ends up with an empty frig. Great write, love you.

This is wonderful, Ida.  My brother was always a bottomless pit when it came to food - and never put on a pound.

I remember those days, Ida, but now I live alone and my refrigerator is still empty.  Food has lost its appeal but the milk jug better always be full for the amount of coffee that I simply must have.

This is just too cute, dear Ida! And Larry's reply too made me smile with his fridge full of potential!

Usually those who contribute the most to empty the fridge, almost never help to fill it again.

Love,
Margherita

Thank you all for your comments. I was just
remembering that empty fridge as I was growing up.
Uriah, if our fridge had had any potential at all my brothers would have eaten it.
