        Autumn Night

Wisps of misty dreams and
   memories,
hang suspended in the
  cool and lovely
Autumn-evening calm,
as moonbeams and shadows
play among the pines
and dance across this
woodland stream...
under a perfect ebony
  star-cloaked sky.
The sound of distant bells
drifts through time.

This makes me want to go dancing in the woods.

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

This poem even smells good.  It reminds me of the piney woods of Georgia.

This is really like a picture, I like the sound of bells far away. Enjoyed the reading.

The idea of the suspension of dreams on the mist is lovely. That and the distant bells at the end evoke the wistful beauty of autumn.

Bruce,

Most lovely.  You took me to a beautiful night on a cold Alaskan night.  Must have been the reason that I have waited to read this one - I was waiting to read when I needed it.

Thank you.

thanks to all who have commented on this and/or my other 'writes' (perhaps far too many?) ...
as I seriously contemplate hanging up the pen ... 'poesy' (like all other 'magic') is but grand-fine 'escape' and illusion ... lost to a world of hard reality.

Don't you dare to put down the pen, dear Bruce Poet!!!!

Please consider that you offer beauty and share your wonderful poetic sensitivity and these gifts are not illusions at all, they are tangible insofar they bring joy to the readers.

As always a wonderful write.

Love and awareness of who you are.

I love the season of Autumn, whether it is day or night. Autumn and Spring are my favorite times of the year.
