Memories Stay

It seems my heart is hurting me today
Memories seem to always stay with me
Sometimes this life of mine doesn't feel okay

The anger it seems never goes away
Inside my heart it seems there is no peace
The hurt and anger seems to always stay

I sit here list'ning to the music play
Remembering when there was still a we
It was my heart that you chose to betray

There were too many things that got in our way
But you were just too blind to even see
You filled my life with so much dismay

I am the one you see who had to pay
From you though I had to set myself free
There was no way that I could even stay

There were those days when I would try to pray
It did no good that I could even see
