           A Trip to the Dentist

A rather wimpish young fellow had a severe toothache
And went along to the dentist to have it pulled out,
The dentist was friendly and bade him to sit up in the chair
And said ‘I’ll soon be able to see what your trouble’s about.’

Peering into his mouth he told Jim he could see the offender
And so you won’t feel any pain I’ll give you an injection,
The young fellow was aghast and said ‘I’m terrified of needles
And to let you do that has my adamant rejection’

‘Well don’t worry then’ said the dentist with compassion
‘There is another way that I can relieve you of pain,
I’ll give you some gas and you won’t feel a thing
And next time you have toothache you’ll come back again.’

The young fellow gave a groan and turned white as a ghost
And said ‘I had gas once before and I don’t want it again,
Gas is one thing that I most definitely cannot take
Isn’t there something else that will free me of pain.’

The dentist thought a moment and said ‘I could give you Viagara’
Jim said, ‘but will that stop the pain, please tell me the truth,’
The dentist responded by saying that it won’t stop the pain
‘But it’ll give you something to hang onto while I pull out your tooth’.

Oh, my goodness! Now that is what I would call a doozy of a punch line! lol

This one really appeals to my naughty sense of humour!

I'm now off to beddy-byes with a very interesting visual dancing in my head!

Love & Laughs,
Linda

Yo Lindsey,

Your poem is very descriptive, and brings back painfull memories.

I had the last of my rotten teeth pulled when I was thirty-five.  It was the best thing I ever did for myself.

I remember the dentist with his knee on my chest for leverage.

Dear Linda, see how lucky we men are in having something to hang onto when we are

in the dentist's chair, just joking.
Thank you my dear for your kind response.
Love you

Thanks Yann I'm glad you enjoy them and that they give you a bit of a chuckle.

Yes Hope, that is one way of looking at it,
I hadn't thought of it like that. Love you.

Thanks Bobby, I don't think the knee in the chest would be as pleasant as the viagra
result. Take care my friend.
