Lonely Days and Nights

Those first few years return with memories
I lay here list'ning to our fav'rite songs
This tender heart belongs only to you
And yet at times I wish I could go home

To feel the tenderness of your sweet kiss
To feel the warmth of your skin next to mine
To wake up with you lying here with me
Is what I dream of each and every night

The days are long and lonely without you
My nights are longer still as night draws near
My heart longs to be near you once again
Tonight my thoughts are all on you my dear

Just wishing you were here with me tonight
With you the world around me feels so right

A lovely sonnet
Makes me want to try one of these again
It's not as easy as it looks
Keep it up, Poetess

OhSweetSue~
Such a melancholy, poignant penning ... we often turn back to the way we wish things were ... these sound like such wonderful times and it is easy to get lost in them~
Yes ... it is easy to wrap ourselves in the warmth of the love that remembers us well~

Beautiful, sweets~

A soulful sonnet from our Sweet Sue!

Loverly, indeed! Your pen has been full of surprises as of late! It's good to see the poetess stretching her poetic wings!

Love to you!

You've expressed yourself beautifully - Sonnets really are the best, aren't they?  And, they're just so darned romantic by nature.  Nicely done, Rose..

A beautiful sonnet in all respects.  The content pulls at the reader perfectly and of course the sheer format is a smooth read throughout.  Wonderfully done.
