Mosaic of the forests,
exclamation marks and wills,
we shall leave you California....
We shall leave your deserts
and your people....
We shall leave your sun and your automobiles....
If to fill up with gas is not enough,
our bones will bloom in the sun
and the vultures will feed on our flesh....
The straight road brandishes its sword
towards the dry heart of mountains....
We are the road.....

"our bones will bloom in the sun "

That.... is beyond awesome.

Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand.

Yann, you make exquisite, but powerful poetry - out of hard, ugly politics and economics - that flows with a biblical beauty and grandeur.  Stunning!  Beautiful!

Dear Owl, what you wrote made me happy, I know that the value of our poems is the value that others give to it....So you offer value to this one...I thank you for that and the all other kind comments....

Thank you John for your kind comment, it depends but usually I write in french first and translate in english the poem...I use a web service for translating but have to do many corrections because it is only a machine and it doesn't mean anything sometimes....Thank you again and longing  or your next poems....

best wishes

Dear Yann, what YOU wrote made ME happy.  It is a beautiful poem, and its calming cadence, in spite of its powerful message, is a perfect gift from you to us.  Thank you.
