Bring to me my cherished love
that tasted moment once again.
A time before the brazen robin flew
against the chilling Autumn winds.

When paupers walked the muddy way
and cattle lay before the moon.
When waters climbed rock strewn falls
and maidens whispered soon dear...soon

When laughter plunged to the end
where children found a brief respite.
And branches swayed and slowly bent
while wolves drove onward to the fight..

And when the candle does then die
before the wick does sadly fall
a robin will steadily fly as
far away the loons now call.

Thank you for "bring(ing) to me my cherished" loons!  Your poetry is always top notch, but your loon poems are even "topperest" notch!

Loved this.  Who wouldn't/couldn't?

To me this is one of those wrap-around-me-and-carry-it-through-my-day poems.

You hint at days gone by and days to come in your own sentimental way,
and all seems so right in the world when I read you.

Thank you for this, it's really nice!

This feels sad, to me it makes me think of my lost love.
It has a soothing sound though. Beautiful images.

I enjoyed the portrait you painted of a place that's gone or never was but should have been.

I agree with Earth Angel... to read your words is to become immersed in them... and such a delightful dip it is! *S* Wonderful write!

Magnus darling man this was spectacular. YOU are always an expert with words and this is truly beautiful. Loved it utterly. I don't get the chance to get in here anywhere near as often as I want to. I am supposed to be writing three different essays, a presentation for the Union and an accessibility report; instead I am sipping the delicate wine of your words. Actually I believe it is better for me than Ted Hughes, but then I’m not a fan of Ted Hughes and I am definitely a fan of yours.

Take care

To see so many thoughtful remarks...brings me
to tears of mixed emotions...  You all are
always in my heart even as times tug at me
and make the simple act of writing a chore.

I love you guys,  you are great... you
truly are!!  ALL OF YOU

Very nice write.  Been too long since being able to indulge in your works.  The times you speak of are truely times I wish were here in every day life.  I much enjoyed and the flow and rhythm were great.
