I feel them
yearning to go
to wander
a season's circumference
while I brace myself
for nights of division
days from this clouded one
when they'll morph again
into star gazing coathangers,
branches bent in dark agony
shrieking of winds
when God lifts the volume

and her children
run wild

far off from their hostess
sporting the colors
of a mother's hard labor.

Hi there blondielocks, I've been wondering where you were....
We are so on the same page, and I love your poem.   I think
the toughest part of parenting is opening our arms
and watching our children fly.  The irony of it all is
that nothing prepares us for the letting go.

*sob*  my babies are all growing up on me.

That's my interpretation of your poem anyway, probably because
this phase of my life is all consuming

Hugs, you~
