He is a raconteur, a teller of tales,
one's common sense he oft assails,
but it matters not, this anecdotist,
his fined honed skills with verbal twist
keep them enthralled with charm and wit,
embellishment, who gives a whit,
“just one more story, please don't quit,”
as at his feet, they raptly sit,
then a voice speaks from the door,
“there will not be one sentence more,
no more tonight of senseless twaddle,
off to bed and do not dwaddle.”
“shut up old man,” grandmother said,
“and let the grandkids go to bed.”

Grandfathers are the best kind of fathers.

Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand.

There is nothing better for children
than a bedtime tale!
Especially from grandfather's lips!

Yo Tim,

Grandmom needs her mouth washed out with soap, or something like that, saying that to granddad.

This is a good, well written poem.

What a great grand dad he is, I'll bet the kids all love him dearly, much better than grandma.  Great poem.

Ah, Sir,

but the mirror shines.

I miss the world that
once we had shared,
but I'm glad to see you
where we both care.

And always, I enjoy the reading
of you.

I agree telling stories to your grand kids is a right!  We have inter-active ones, and they are a tradition here in this family.  Just a sooper dooper poem.
