The Storykeeper

quote:
"To really understand dolphins, one must study them on their own terms. …the sea is a realm whose vast spaces are defined acoustically. Cetaceans communicate over hundreds of miles, making theirs a truly global society. Surrounded by this universal conductor of communication, marine mammals develop unusually strong bonds to one another. …” Jean-Michel Cousteau

Layers of yesteryear should invade
this, my soul, but some
ballooning strain of quiet entered
and I shrugged to shake it off,
to give some sky to my chords,
to know if some wind would carry silent songs
to attach again reason to life…

and that is when the poet entered,
who dallied for a day or hours
with dolphins on his sharing plate,
and he cajoled me,

take a piece of time

capturing yet another streaming dreamer…

So it was, robustly, justly pleasant
when I went roaming,
just yesterday or when? The day before, perhaps,
speaking of dolphins and water
and ways of souls to meta particles
surrounding all,

when it did not surprise me to look up
even though I might trip on terra, to see my
wants and needs floating above me,
in the most spacious of spaces
albeit most obvious of places,
leaving me traces of stories to imagine…

and I kindred my ken with soul
to the need of the promise of goal
then honor the dolphin ~
a whispered,

I will not forget.

If you hadn't told me, I might not have seen. I had to look more than once to see the dolphin in the clouds.

Absolutely beautiful. The poem and the picture.

The sky is never the limit with you, Sunshine. Personally I always saw castles and hostess twinkies but I'm sure there were dolphins up there somewhere, too

it's a beautiful piece of writing from a poet's fertile imagination and pen. Thanks for sharing

Ahhh, here I touch upon deeply inspirational words and sky signs.

Wonderful, dear Karilea!

Your heart is a kind and gentle one, and so full of love.
It is evident in every poem you write.

Beautifully done, Karilea~
