Paternalism

If only a band aid cured cancer
Or undid the open wounds on a heart

Returned warmth to a cold, frozen soul
Or awakened the injustices
We committed against each other

How are we less capable of evil?
When there's the same opportunity

The only difference visible
Is a warm, gentle fabrication
Which we allow others to believe

Yo dear Juju,

The thought is there in this poem, and it is a very good one.

I liked the thought process as well. I have a particularly hard time putting brainpower into my poems, instead of a "reigned in" raw emotion. I'm impressed.

And on a side note- I'm in love with you.

A very thought-fill and thoughtful write, my friend. It's good to be able to have some free time so I can catch up on your writings.
