This all started out when my mom died in a burglary. It was 2001 and it was all most time for dinner but mom had to go to the store real quick and she grabbed her keys and said ill will be right back and she was gone. Thirty minutes later we get a phone call from the police department saying your wife has been shot in a burglary. At that very second everything rushed through my mind. I couldn’t believe it mom was dead. I was soaked in tears. Three days later was the funeral everybody was there. It still hadn’t got to me that mom was dead. Three years later I got married to Zoë Brooks. We had three kids Jaden, Chloe and Michelle. They were all very good kids. The next morning I got a phone call from the FBI saying they found out who shot my mom. I was speechless I didn’t know what to say and I hung up. So now my mission is to find the person who killed my mom. I went down stairs and started researching. Then it came to me before I got off the phone I heard someone in the background say a name. It was kind of mumbled I couldn’t understand it. So later I called them back and asked if I could have the name of the person who shot my mom. I stood in silence waiting for an answer and they said sorry we can only give that information to detectives. I hung up and put my head down on the desk in front of me. All the sudden and idea came to me I will sneak into the police department and steal the files on the murder. Even know I could get in a load of trouble it’s for my mom so I’ll do it. Later that night I told Zoë will be back at eleven and kissed her and said goodbye. I got in my car and went down to the station. There was no one there so I got on the roof and crawled through the vents and found the file room I busted the vent out and started looking for the right file. So first I know I had to look in the  murder files and the year it happened so I looked and looked and after 2 hours of searching  I had found it my mom’s murder in my hands. Next morning I got up at ten o’clock. I was looking over the files and I found the name. I got on the computer and looked up the name. I typed in Shawn Barnet and there it was he had been released from jail 3 months ago. I knew I had to find him. On the website it said that he had been living in the Rooftop Apartments. I headed over to the Apartments and asked the manager what room Shawn Barnet lived in and he said sorry but he had just left for his plane to Las Angeles. I knew at that moment that I was not giving up. I went home told my wife what we were doing and we were off on the plane to Las Angeles. Two hours later we arrived in Las
Angeles I hurried over to the Information desk and asked if a Shawn Barnet had been here. And she said yes he just left for his hotel. I believe he said that he was staying at the courtyard express. I and my wife grabbed our bags and left to go to the hotel. Once we had gotten there it was already eleven so I decided to get a room and find the guy tomorrow. So the next morning I woke up my wife was gone. I called down to the front desk and asked if she saw a tall blonde haired girl this morning. The lady said she had seen a man take her to his room 189. And he rushed up there to the room and knocked there my wife was bloody and scraped up she was screaming but no sign of Shawn but suddenly he appeared with a gun to her head and said I am doing the same thing I did to your mom. I pulled out my pistol and shot him and he fired to I was heartbroken mom was dead now my wife. I went over to the bed and kissed her shot him and there was one more bullet left. I lost my mom and my loving wife and I also lost myself. BANG! It was over I felt my heart losing blood I knew I was dead.

Fox16,

This is more a story than a poem.

I'd advise reading, and commenting on some of the other poems here.  It will give you some ideas.

Bobby
