Another Afternoon of Storms

Afternoon storms
once again fill the day.

And in my room that storm echoes
thoughts of you.

The air static charged
as I imagine your sweet smile…

Thunder rolls by
and a soft rain begins to fall.

Windows become translucent
with small droplets of water
which seem to follow paths
previous rains had made…

An afternoon storm,
filling my room
with pleasant memories
of you.

Just another afternoon of storms.

So lovely, JL! We haven't had a storm here for ages but strange to say I still think of my particular "you". I guess it's good to have a "you" in one's mind no matter the weather, right? Hope you are well.

JL, let me guess that you weren't overly devasted by Ike, or are at a location where you and yours were safe. Lovely poem!
