Eternal Devotion

Devotion for his sweetheart,
He stood close by her side,
And held her hand through
Good and bad,
His love he would never hide,

When she gave him children,
He upheld his part,
And held her hand through
Good and bad,
And loved them with all his heart,

With all the years together,
He doted on his bride,
And held her hand through
Good and bad,
Just to be close by her side,

Then her body weekened,
He pushed her to be strong,
And held her hand through
Good and bad,
But knew they wouldn’t have long,

Devotion for his sweetheart,
He loved this woman so,
And held her hand the day she died,
He could not let her go,

Now by her grave he whispers,
When I get to the other side,
I’ll hold your hand through Eternity,
Forever you’ll be my bride.

Never have I seen devotion so perfectly described. I am sure that this will bring a tear to many an eye.
Such a pleasure to read especially noting the hope expressed in the last stanza.

Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Yo WTBAKELAR,

The thought is there, however, watch your spelling.

Try "doted" for "doded", and "weakened" for "weekend".

I renamed it Eternal Devotion. It seems to fit.
