walking out beyond the ends of my eyes over to the side of my hands where they follow the pimple face walls of some old man's friendly stucco tomorrow is just wearing her slip and standing in front of the sun making herself seem available like another man's wife in her mind and I know looking in that direction is something you just don't do on sundays but it is always hard to turn away without the sound of my boots on wood disturbing the rest of the weekend and causing one to stay a bit too long beyond their welcome in today's shoes dwelling on how damp socks feels when your bare feet pray for restless _______________ daark |
