Where no tyranny is tolerable

Why would a militant Islamist Marxist
and self-styled native of Africa
want to be president of America?
Eight weeks to answer.

Gov. Palin is from Africa? Geez, and all this time I'd been thinking she was from Alaska. Is Africa near Russia, too? And maybe someone should tell her, since she doesn't know what the VP does, that she doesn't get to play dress up pretend President except at state funerals or after McCain goes to the Vet's Home here or the big one in the sky (if you know what I mean). So which America does she want to be President of North America or South America? She's really a Muslim? Well, that's ok, so was Mohammad Ali and he was one heck of a boxer. Remember, float like a butterfly, sting like a bee? Not that I really approve of boxing, or wolf hunting either as a matter of fact. I just like him because of the butterfly thing ... flutterby, flutterby, flutterby. Bees scare the heck out of me, though. All that buzzing and stinging is just a bit too much! We've only got eight weeks to decide why she wants to be VP so she can be the big P after? Hmmmm, maybe because being President means you know where they hide the Easter eggs on the White House lawn, or because you get to flip the switch that turns on the lights on the White House Christmas tree. Well, since she's a Muslim, maybe she would't have a Christmas tree, so I'm going to have to stick with the Easter egg thing as my final answer. Oh, the incredible edible egg! Gotta love 'em.
PS - I really don't think she's a militant, she just likes shooting moose and caribou and bears and wolves, and deer, just stuff like that. As for being a Marxist, I could be wrong, but I think there were just boys in that family, Harpo, Groucho, Chico, Sleepy, Dopey... something like that.

Reading this absolutely abominable, ignorant, and erroneous 'write'
was almost as abhorrent as listing to former world 'Chess Champion'
Robert Fischer spewing his Antisemitism in various forums over far
too many years.  One simply feels deeply embarrassed for all of
'humanity' (and not at all hopeful pursuant to the prognosis for its
long-term survival) after sampling this kind of pernicious tripe.
[and no...I'm NOT an Obama fan!]

In my ever-most-humble opinion...initial perusals of the opposing
political tickets in this upcoming election  once again (sadly) presents
one with a grand-titanic struggle to delimit, at best, the lesser of potential
evils in this VERY unwell (devolving) 'democracy'!

Dear Mr. Fradera,

Is there some reason you are printing this in a poetry area?  As a poem, I see little to distinguish it from your prose.  I have seen you write poems with some depth and feeling, and I wish you would reserve poetry forums for them, which I respect as authentic efforts at a difficult art.

You have a respectable talent and an admiring audience for your art which at times includes me. This posting  is not reaching for the same place that I have seen your poems reach for.  The language pays no attention to music and there is none of the introspective honesty I've seen from you.  I don't mind an argument with you in discussion forums where Politics and political animosity may be part of the dialogue, but here I'd rather respond as a poet to another poet.

Sincerely yours,

Bob Kaven

We have many venues to blog about political ideas and ideals, lets keep this dedicated to the forum that in just a few days, I have come to love.

Poetry and politics don't always make the best bedfellows.

We can all have opinions and be steadfast toward our choices,  here is not the place to denigrate other peoples choices.

God Bless America.  Final answer.

To put it another way, why would the president of the Southern Baptist Convention want to get elected Pope, the head of a faith that considers all others to be herrosies?  Why would a man want to lead the National Organization of Women by disguising himself as a woman so as not to be mistaken for a man?

Why should any candidate's religion, sex or skin color be an issue in determining who we should elect as the head of our government? Furthermore, though this country is NOT owned by Christians, Jaime, Barack Obama is Christian, not Muslim.
He is also an American citizen, is an  elected State Senator. He is not a citizen of any African country.
Maybe you should do some serious reading outside of Rush Limbaugh's pile of baloney and get your facts straight. You have a contorted, twisted, untrue view of Mr. Obama, and have apparently fallen into the trap of swallowing whole, a foul fowl.
You have every right to vote for whomever you choose, but I really wish it were based on facts, and the candidate's voting record and platform.
I am greatly saddened you appear to have fallen into the trap of believing and furthering the spread of lies and deceit.

I am incredulous.

I have no detailed understanding
of your motives . . .

Yet I still smell a con.
