Behind the eyes where water pools
a gale begins to blow
and tosses love’s restless feel
up and out from within
like the overspill from floodgates
normally closed.

That doesn’t mean it never dries
like under-nourished soil
that cracks and splits and tells a tale
of wilful neglect
because it’s wise enough to know
dry up or lose the power
to rejuvenate and procreate
more water in the pool.

So back it goes whipped, beaten, bruised
ashamed of its release
into the ether of a dream
where love’s the victor not the victim
and restlessness need never be.

And from love’s hardened lock-up bin
whispers yet are heard
by witches, ghouls, and goblins
but even they can’t say
what makes a woman pray!

This sounds like a dream,  wet, wild and wonderful.  Splash on.

A dream or a prophesy but it doesn't matter much because neither of them are real.  Thanks so much for the read, Witbakelar.

So beautifully expressed, dear Helen!

You ARE love and love needs to flow freely, unhindered, endlessly ...

Love and hugs.

Love your analogy, Honeybunch!  A neat read!
