fog wet spit on the streets of santa cruz
like leather with sweat
from a galloping ocean's mane

and I can hear your eyes there
like fingers touching the old mission
looking for treasures perhaps invisible

or for a place to lean your back against
under some peak a boo red tile eave
from the moon light indigo we brought along

and then realized how bright it was
if another someone's God was watching
and we wanted to be adultery oriented

thoroughly and without intermissions
