Look down into the well, black water still
Our reflections own us and we them
An oil portrait in gray and heather
I see you laughing, beer in your whiskers
Cigarette dangling from your stained fingers
Explain to me the meaning of life, your life
How you stayed cold and indifferent
amidst a sea of children and laughter
How you never came out to play

This line alone says a thousand words ...
------------------------------------------
Our reflections own us and we them
------------------------------------------
Very much enjoyed and it speaks of honest questioning that feels as if there is a very personal attachment to it.  Well done.

Tina,

Your poetry always touches something inside me.  You write with honesty and tell a powerful story.

This is wonderful, Tina. It tells the story of a lifetime in a few sentences. Your poetry is always so real.

Bitter memories, broken hearts, sad and lonely man misses the joys of life.
Made my eyes get all misty. to close to home.
