I still miss you

The missing you,
never seems to end.

I shadow it,
with smiles like a clown.

But under the makeup,
lies the tears.

You were all I had,
a never ending love.

Day or night,
you were there.

I try to smile,
and be happy.

Yet like chains,
I am bound with a sadness.

Never far away,
I see you in my mind.

Missing your smile,
and the spirit you possessed.

Why am I haunted,
why do I sturggle?

I lost you,
I lost a lot.

Smile down on me,
heal my broken heart.

Remember me,
I remember you.

This day,
burns with sadness.

That you aren't here,
to share it with me.

For you,
gave me life.

I miss you,
especially now.

The day you brought me into this world,
is upon me.

And you,
are not here to thank.

I am missing you,
wishing you were here.

To see your Grandson,
the beauty of you in him.

He has,
your spirit inside.

His smile,
is that of yours.

And he,
misses you too.

Thank you for my life,
thank you for the love.

Thank you for being my Mom,
I will never forget you.

A tender poem that truly tugged my heartstrings. On my own recent birthday, I had similar thoughts of my Mom who has passed on. This was an emotional read for me.

Beautifully, soulfully penned.

I just looked up your birthday. I see that your birthday is September 5th! Sending "Happy Birthday" wishes in advance!

On my mother's birthday each year, she would send flowers of gratitude to my grandmother for giving her the gift of life. Your poem would have brought tears to their eyes.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I lost my mother, grandmther and 2 aunts in 16 months. It is a pain I am trying to deal with, and I thank you for your words. I also thank you for wishing me a Happy Birthday, God Bless You... Lisa
