I imagine the gravel prints on your foot as you might dangle a bare ankle and pretend the white stone love can just be tossed as a pebble into some wishing well day dream but then you clutch it bosomly close and the little girl of your eyes comes to the window of your smile and waves at my friendly safety before unlocking just your heart edge and showing me photos of you as a woman with some stranger that you know better than you knew in your dreams you whisper when you say his name and I lean closer to hear and then we keep just that distance ______________ daark |

And nothing seems more powerful to shorten the distance than a whispered name … … and still that close isn't close enough yet for a yearning heart!
