(the second stanza has mention of certain characters from hindu mythology.  i apologise if it creates confusion. but i couldn't find any better reference.)

I look at you
In a gilt-edged mirror
Watch you watching me
Insidiously, silently, relentlessly-
The mask of sorrow slips for a moment
A glimpse of an eternally evil face
Mottled with ancient guilt,
But even without that
I would know it is you-
Like flowers know
To turn away from the dark
Like the waves know
That land is not home.

Nature dispenses but partial knowledge,
A knowing of,
But not, a knowing-how-to
A creature with atrophied muscles
And a frenetic brain
As in the murky depths of Cain’s twisted mind
As Brutus in the wake of his betrayal
As a weak Dasaratha abandoning his first-born
Or Bhishma looking his fallibility in the eye
And finding a spurned woman’s rage.

I look at you
Seductive, easy, sumptuous
Arousing festering egos
Encouraging inadequacy of spirits
Wallowing in masochistic zeal
Oozing with pustular adjectives...
No embalming noun.

This is so intense, I feel haunted too ... I guess we all have all potential within us, good and evil. But as emanations of God we have the power of choice and when we are aware of being One, the power of evil recedes and we can find peace.

Really powerful write!
