  Appalachian Autumn Sunrise

A solitary loon cry echo-glides
the mountain wilderness edge,
on a tenuous mystic breezeā€¦
where final fleeting night-shadows
   dance
with fading memories and dreams,
(along translucent moonset sands)
to vanish in  the rising mists
and flowing dawn that glide
across this lambent lake of
new-morning promises.

Most any write with a loon in it gets my applause, but this...is truly exquisite!

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

This excellent poem brings to mind my first encounter with a loon.  It scared me half to death.

Bruce,

I swear that we are thinking the same way.  I wrote a poem about September morning and came in later and saw yours.  Last night I was driving home thinking about the cry of a loon and writing a poem in my head -- and here it is!  I so much enjoy you and your poetry.
