         Twilight Life

Here…

where life is a twilight-wisp,
(mid memories of love’s peril)
the badly wounded soul
is left with only the loss
of all color into night;
lonely sounds of a
desperate roaming wind
through parched leaves,
along that last desolate
   road to winter;
and endless secret tears
that merge with the ultimate
punishment and emptiness
in everyone’s ‘story’.

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

This is a very insightful write.  Everyone lives a twilight life.  There is no other option.  It's part of the human condition.

Perhaps, Bobby, that is true - though I am not convinced.  What I am convinced of is few can express it as well as Bruce has.

Beautiful writing, Bruce.  I am so happy that you are back and posting with us again.

The "twillight life" certainly does present us with some beautiful poetry. I guess there are reasons for everything.

Twilight moments can be cool or warm.
This masterfully written piece highlights the melancholy feelings
that can accompany this stage of one's day/life.

Masterfully rendered melancholy, dear Bruce.
I can relate ... luckily only in transitorily moments.

This mad me feel so much sadness....so much ache and pain...maybe it is the way I am reading it, maybe it is my mood...but I loved it all the same...
