Mom’s snooping around
in hiding places.

She finds a stack of bills
in an obscure drawer.

Mom’s no dummy.
She can add two and two.

Bones has been
holding out on her.

Mom has this thin
hickory switch.

Mom starts chasing
Bones around the house.

She decorates Bones’s backside
with red, raw, welts.

Bones won’t mess
with Mom ever again.

Authors Note:

My Mom had one of those hickory switches.  She cut it from a tree for just that purpose.

Bobby

Point made, not surprised, but my point still stands - even more strongly.

My Dad had the switch. Wasn't afraid to use it either.

This can't be read without hurting ... I don't like these methods, but that was the way it was a couple of generations ago.

Again, dear Bobby, you reminded me of my wonderful Mom (who never ever hit me and who educated me on example ...), when she told me of her father who used those tough methods on her brothers.

You really have a way with telling reality, that remains impressed deeply.

Love,
Margherita

Thanks dear Margherita,

Like Bones "old lady", my "old lady" was all alone to deal with a bad kid, in a bad neighborhood.

She did a good job.

Love Bobby
