I sit here with my peace of mind; my quiet time of rest
Then to me speak the voices that I’ve grown to know the best
They seem to know just when to come and chat somewhat of day
They seem to know my every thought and just of what to say

There are many but they have no name or face that I can see
They’re different with so many views, that all relate to me
There are smart ones that do know it all and ones that need to know
A mind so full of words to share and places I can go

A joyous voice and one that’s sad, there’s one for every state
Which all reside with point of view to humor me or grate
There’s many I just leave within, I quiet them with time
While others I accept and heed, then put them down as rhyme

My words they come from life itself, from acts of me and many
They come as gifts that we can share, worth more than any penny
We each express our feelings; through words we voice our view
And when the day does pass away, tomorrow brings anew

My words come from my heart and soul; to paper when I cannot speak
They dizzy me quite often and at times some leave me weak
They come from early teachings, then granted so to use
Each word, as if a sharing gift, that no-one should abuse

From darkest chasms of the mind, the farthest distance of we know
Be place of God or devil’s pit; the ever reaches that we go
Words they come as curse or play, as vent or lessons that do stay
From friend or foe, as on we go to get on with our day

The words they come from human need, to somehow tell of who we are
To share, to keep, with time to sleep, to reach and touch so near and far
Words are what we craft and mould, share when ready to display
They give a meaning to this life; they give us hope and much to say

Rick~
If I could choose anything perfect to soak my thoughts in this day,
it would be the ink of your penning~

'My words they come from life itself, from acts of me and many
They come as gifts that we can share, worth more than any penny'

*sigh* You surely have written some of my thoughts here ... I believe that my mission in life, as I know it, is to SHARE all that I write~

Thank you, thank you for this post~
The entirety of it certainly speaks to me~

This stanza hits me with particular angst, Rick;
I only know it's good to see you writing again,
even better knowing that you've got a group
to converse with, to share with, and to
spark another for the rest of us!

And thank you for bringing Lindsay along!

Dear Sunshine, Lindsay is a treat indeed, one of the kindest men you will meet, with a life time of stories to tell. I have not written much this year; my daughter is turning 18 and I have been doing up a vehicle for her and the time just gets away, I have only attended a few of our writing group sessions this year or else I would not have written a thing. Thank you for the visit my dear friend and the lovely comments you alway give. Take care and be well.

Sincerely
Rick

She was just 10 when you started with us, Rick. Where did the time go?

How exciting to get another one ready to leave the nest, so to speak. But don't worry, Dad, she will come home often enough to remind you just what a very lucky man you are!
