you were waiting by the breakfast bar
pretending it was just waiting
for the moments to leave

I love you in nonchalant
with nothing else on
except perhaps mckuen

and that look in your eyes
like you want permission
and even to be punished slightly

for taking too long to get here
where we finally did
in our accidental meeting

which I had planned for a lifetime

D,

I think I am getting in my car right now and going to look for a poet to linger over coffee with.  beautiful.  I want mine over easy, please, with a dash of whipped cream in my coffee.

I adore everything in this poem beginning with the title and ending with the apparent paradox which really centers the solar plexus and starts an infinity breath.

Love,
Margherita

it's the noise of noon
when you come to me in silence
with downward glances.

I think Margherita described my feelings about this one perfectly...

I have been breathing in this poem most of the day. With sensual simplicity, it connects in a visceral way that leaves one breathless.
You are at your best here, Dark.
