It seems there’s a fanciful notion in mind
that I can begin at the beginning again
and magically appear as I was back then
without the appendage of what I’ve acquired.

And I grant that my mind is fanciful too
but it knows to look really hard at the view
and appreciate all that grew in situ
with care and attention or the lack thereof.

I listen and smile; he can talk for awhile
until impatient I sigh and softly declare
“Never, you know, not in my lifetime
will I lose what cost so much to acquire.”

His words are spread over visual impact,
hardened with starch of formative years,
and ironed with the heat of pettiness
but I listen and smile; he can talk for awhile.

Not a foe when I’m lonely and thinking of you
but really no friend to attest to his view
in the manner of one perfect and spruce
driving in nails with his free speech.

I listen and smile; he can talk for awhile
but two lonely ones can’t walk the same line
when already he’s ironed and folded up views
while mine still hang at the end of the line.

Never, you know, not in my lifetime
will views be co-joined in the same pile
because I know of the worth and value to me
of looking and thinking the way I do!

It's a great title as is!
And your "vent" is a creative outlet in powerful form.

Thanks, Eric!  Perhaps I'm gathering in Karma by not being able to tell him to go to hell but then again perhaps more if I do tell him. One can't really know.

~ Perhaps never the twain shall meet in that arena. I'm just thankful that you never lost yourself! You're strong and I like the way you think ~ and conduct yourself! There never really was a need to tell him "to go to hell"!
You're always right and that's all that counts! lol

You truly are adorable!

Love,
Linda
