In my teens,
my mother used to say,

"Larry is cold, hard"
"Doesn't think about things"
"He doesn't seem to care"
"Larry doesn't take things serious"

Daddy would disagree

"Larry thinks all the time"
"Serious, deep thoughts"

Both of them were right
Both of them were wrong

Both of them were
Both of them were not

As a child,
I saw errors
everywhere.
Many hours...
of many days...
spent in the woods,
crying over the world
that appeared before me.

When I questioned
why things were
as they were...
I was always told,
"That's just the way it is"

As I grew
and sought the reason
behind "That's the way it is"...

the errors disappeared.

Today,
I take the absence of error
very seriously.

Each time
one seems
to appear...
it always,
eventually,
makes me laugh.

Especially,
if I find myself
taking it seriously.

I seriously laugh.

Why do I laugh?

The only explanation
that I can give is...

"That's just the way it is"

lol a lot of people (including me)have done silly things in our past! I enjoyed reading you're thoughts

I can only say, the reason you are laughing is that you know you wont do those things now, and you are asking yourself "what was I thinking" lol

(((Artic)))   Of all the thoughts that I can think...I think my favorite thought is the one...   "a thinker...thinking thoughts"
So much is rooted in that one.   I think

I generally tell people that I am almost always halfway kidding.

And the pearl happens to be my "birth" gem. (June) I love the philosophy of the pearl. They take something annoying and make it a beautiful thing.

Go figger.

You do think deep thoughts, though.

I think I need to take some Valerian root. My coffee pot broke. Y'think it was divine intervention? Have another hug.

I love your stuff--and your son is another deep thinker too. You do really great work.

Larry - It just goes to show that history repeats itself.  Our parents didn't know and we don't know and that's ... "just the way it is".  You're right in that we've just got to laugh at it all.

I think sometimes we laugh to keep from crying or simply because the world is a damn funny place. If you think about for a while you just can't help laughing.
