One More Day

Alone in the feel
of another by-gone...
taken, just maybe
or not

Thinking the obvious
words heard from afar
caged in their moments,
forgot

Another and another
in wait for the day
when change is the tune of
life's lot.

Deeply melancholic, yet beautifully said, dear Maureen!

May the change you are envisioning manifest quickly. This result will show as a cooperation between you (your trust) and the divine creative forces.

Love and hugs.

Oh my,  I am waiting for the day when this year  turns around for me~~ explanation:

I went to pick up my mother in Tenn to bring her back for a visit when my car threw a rod (whatever that means) almost caught on fire, was rescued by the VDOT workers  who were at the ramp that I managed to get off at. Got towed, needed a motor,  which then turned into needing a transmission, with a rental car taking forever to get, and needing a credit card which I don't have  ( my mother saved me there) and here I am  each day since last Tuesday waiting for the news that I can go and drive 333 miles back to VA to pick up the car. After getting home I was told I shouldn't have panicked and  towed the car  home instead and  had all the work done here...makes sense..but where is sense  when you are breaking down (in more ways  than one...)

thank you everyone for your nice responses..I am just trying to stay sane this year!

ps...a $4000.00 visit (frowning)I could have gone to Hawaii and had a great time for that!

Amen, Maureen. This hasn't been my best summer either. While I was enjoying the flu, my plumbing backed up I had to repipe my whole house to the tune of about 5000 dollars. The flu turned into the pneumonia I'm still fighting. (I didn't make it to Hawaii either). But I guess there is a bright side, I knew the plumbing was old I had saved money for it.
Hope things get better, I'll be thinking of you.

M - When I was younger I had to undertake a fairly long car journey and I made sure I had an emergency tyre inflating device with me in case I got a flat tyre.  Sure enough I got a flat tyre.  Perhaps it was just bad luck or perhaps it was because that's where my focus was.  I don't worry about flat tyres anymore and have not had another one since.

It seems that you handled it as well as you could at the time so don't let anyone "beat up on you" for not making a different decision.

This is all off the point somewhat because the point is to say that I enjoyed your words!

Maureen,

I love how this rolls off your tongue and into the mind. When the rhythm of life becomes the rhythm of our words, a poem such as this becomes our music.

Thank you everyone, and Ida and Helen, I completely understand. I tried to stay as positive as possible but I just think this is not my year!!
Sad to say  after  returning the rental and picking up the car, it had two more breakdowns in VA before getting an hour from the garage...I have to thank the  VA state police for being so helpful and courteous.

I finally thought I had it made when I reached Tenn and dropped my mother off. In returning the next day on the 8 hr ride I almost made it home...and had to  be towed the last 70 miles or so, due to overheating and too many traffic tie-ups.

But it is amazing how many people (men especially) couldn't tell me that I had lost all the coolant somehow, whether a leak or hose problem, so I could have replaced it and been able to make it home the rest of the way. The whole trip was 500 miles.

Now I don't trust my car and plan on taking it to a Ford dealership for a complete check up before deciding what to do next...school is beginning in 2 weeks for me and I need to be able to have transportation I can count on.

So much for a pleasant summer~~ where has it gone anyway

I probably could write some very negative poetry, but would rather wait until I  am feeling inspired with happiness.
Thanks  again!

Just one day at a time is all we can do. With each sunrise comes a brand new day. And, it just might be better than the day before. Atleast we can hope so.

M

I love the poem and really felt for you as I read the stories afterwards.  Cars are a real mystery to me - and I hate how vulnerable I am on trips if mine starts acting up.  I am slowly learning, but I'd rather write a poem.

I am glad you were safe and that you are home now.

Nakdthoughts,

That sounds like no fun.  However, one thing about it, things are bound to get better for you.

Thanks again everyone...yes I am glad I am home safe  and that it wasn't worse. But if you  ever have something like that happen to you...pay to have your car towed the distance home...at least then you would have a pick of  a good mechanic. Mine is still being worked on, fixing all the mistakes I already paid for.

Yes the days go by just too quickly, just remember, each day is a gift and that is why they call this day the Present.
Thanks for sharing my friend, have a wonderful day.

Ain't that the truth.  Now I see why you were drawn to my 'Instant Karma' poem! There are those who say it could've been worse, but I'm with you - I'd rather have had spent the $$ on something a little less practical. :0
