.

A tiny
White half dot
On the horizon line

It was the sun
Just rising
Above the sea

I told you then
How I love the sight of
Two masted schooners
Gliding into view

Getting up
From bed—standing
On a pink blue shore
You went to see
Your brother and his wife
To say goodbye

And how odd
I thought it was
As I drank
Long and sweet
From the fruit
Of a nearby tree

Papayas growing
In your parents’
Back yard

John,

Papayas are lovely sweet things.  Unfortunately, they don't keep too well.  You can't get them up here.  You are lucky.
