I could go to the confessional
and admit that the alps are lovely
now that I saw them behind you
for the first time some yesterday

but then your eyes were there too
and I would have to lie
if he asked if I even noticed
what was beyond the foreground

when you were in black and pale
with silver and looking away
just wearing the afternoon
like a glider does the sky

reading my mind book with your smile
turning the pages without looking down
but knowing the words in other words
without even spell correcting

just getting down to the mastering

D,

This poem is the perfect way to start my day.  You weave beauty so erotically.  Your eyes miss little and you have a wonderful way of sharing through your poetry.

From visions of the mind come the thoughts of the heart.  Nice view you share and now I am wondering if I would miss the background.

Your mind book is simply fascinating, dear D.! There are poetic heights in this poem like

just wearing the afternoon
like a glider does the sky

which is totally awesome, but the poem is simply perfect in its wholeness.
