I never really understood
just how great you were
back when we first began
I was young and immature,
in love with another man
or just stuck in his allure,
I took off in directions
when I wasn't ever sure.

So after all these years
I finally saw the 'you'
I so desperately needed
but never really knew
until I hit rock bottom
and almost fell through,
but there you were and
to my disbelief

I was there too.

But love changes over time.
I wasn't there when we first began-
missing in my self-involvement,
too naive to understand
what I could have had in you
and now I never can-
and whoever said "it's never too late"
was surely a foolish man.

Dixie - I can really relate to your words but sometimes we're just in the wrong place at the wrong time for us and then when we see what we couldn't see then, we feel regretful.  That's never a good thing but I think it's a good thing that you came to see more than you did at first.  That in essence is growth and you have grown.  Yes, that's a good thing!

Sometimes those painful 'what-could-have-beens' allows us to recognize opportunities when they come our way and the ability to not overlook them.  I try hard to believe that.  Good luck to you in this...great write BTW.

Dixie...Perhaps you can't go back to what you now know, but the future may hold something much more precious. Glad to read you again...Paul

Dixie, you have matured with grace and understanding. A new 'opportunity' will come knocking at your door and this time you will be ready for it. All that you have experienced has not been for naught.

Loving hug,
Linda

sometimes it is too late, and dealing with the emotional ripples of that is tough on the heart. everything changes though and sometimes second chances happen when we least expect them!

love you!

Dearest Dixie!

Roniece is write!-- Never give up in this world. Every thing in this world is a precious gift from God. Keep your chin up high and rise above many! It's really good to write about your thoughts and emotions. Letting everyone know, is a prefect way to get confidence. I am no psychologist, But I am a friend!, and I know how you may be able to solve what ever is going on...

May you start to feel better
