A Rewarding Smile

I catch your eye as you stand tall, waiting for what? I don’t know
You watch all around, soaking in the people passing by
I catch your eye, see you glimpse then turn away
Distracted by other bodies moving between your eyes and mine
You look at your feet, your fingers but then
I catch your eye, your quick flicker to check I’m seeing you there
A secret recognition, a single glance, questioning yet answering
No words spoken yet a novel of meaning in one look
I catch your eye and you turn to face me and smile
My prize from you, a distant stranger

Claire,

This is interesting and you made me smile.  Isn't it wonderful when eyes meet and smiles form?
